Standard Operating Procedure (SOP): Obtaining and Installing WooCommerce Extensions Before Customer Purchase

This SOP outlines the steps for a support representative to install WooCommerce extensions on a customer's site and ensure the customer purchases them under their own account.1. Log In to WooCommerce
  1. Navigate to Woo.com and go to the login page.
  2. Log in using the support@britecode.io account.
2. Download the Required Plugin
  1. Click on the WooCommerce logo (or navigate to the main account area).
  2. Go to the Downloads section.
  3. Access the entire plugin archive from Woo.
  4. Download the desired plugin as a ZIP file.
3. Install the Plugin on the Customer Site
  1. Go to the customer's site.
  2. Install the downloaded ZIP file using either:
    • FTP (File Transfer Protocol).
    • The "Add Plugin" option on the customer's site.
4. Initiate Subscription (Do NOT Purchase)
  1. On the customer's site, navigate to WooCommerce.
  2. Go to Extensions.
  3. Click on My Subscriptions.
    • Note: This page will show that the plugins are installed but not yet purchased.
  4. Click the Subscribe button next to the installed plugin.
    • WARNING: Clicking "Subscribe" at this stage will attempt to purchase the extension under the support@britecode.io account. You must proceed to step 5 to complete the purchase under the customer's account.
5. Complete the Purchase Under the Customer's Account

You have two options for the customer to complete the purchase, which is critical for them to receive updates:

Option A: Customer Self-Purchase
  • Share the plugin links with the customer.
  • Instruct the customer to purchase the links.
Option B: Assisted Purchase (Easiest)
  • Obtain the customer's account credentials.
  • Log in as the customer.
  • Purchase the extensions.
6. Verification

Once the customer subscribes (purchases), the extension will automatically appear in the My Subscriptions list. The support representative can then proceed to update the extension.
